About Local Headlines Now

Local Headlines Now is an independent news website published by John Chekwas, a Nigerian American journalist.

We are starting a new edition with a focus on useful, carefully sourced reporting. Our earlier archive has been withdrawn as part of this rebuild.

Our approach

We aim to explain what happened, identify the evidence, distinguish confirmed information from unresolved claims and make clear why a development matters. We do not present social-media popularity as proof that a claim is true.

Accountability

Our publisher is responsible for the website and its editorial direction. Readers can raise questions and report errors through our contact page. See our editorial standards and corrections policy.
